The Sugar Challenge
My initial reaction to the sugar challenge was that it might be difficult to resist the temptation to not have any added sugar in my diet for 2 weeks. I feel hesitant about my ability to meet the challenge (because who doesn't love sugar?). In the past I have tried to break a habit of adding sugar in my milk which ended successfully. This experience was not as difficult as expected (plain milk actually tastes pretty good!). I think cutting back on sugar will impact me by making me think I need sugar for energy. Overall before the challenge I felt I was having a healthy intake of fruits and vegetables and not too much sugar. A healthy diet if I may say so myself!

Living a healthy lifestyle

Living a healthy lifestyle means exercising, avoiding additional sugar, not staying in 1 place for too long, and eating various types of healthy foods each day such as fruits and vegetables. It is important to me to live a healthy life because when I grow up, I will have a healthy lifestyle and a healthy body which will help me live my life to the fullest. Some of the things that make it difficult to be healthy are my schedule which conflicts with when I want to go to the gym, poor dietary habits developed in preteen years, occasional laziness caused by oversleeping, and an occasional want for sugar. My relationship with food is currently positive as I eat many types of fruits every day and some vegetables but I sometimes eat sugar through the form of candy. In the
past my relationship with food was worse because I used to only eat 1 fruit a day and only ate vegetables a few times a week. One thing my family believes about food is you should eat healthy if you want to grow up strong and healthy with minimal diseases. They also believe that you finish everything off your plate to avoid being disrespectful to the person who cooked the food. Another belief about food that my family holds is you should eat healthy if you want to keep your brain sharp and increase longevity.
